EPLC Meeting Schedule 2016-2017

Announcement: We are seeking 2 new ELPC Board Members to join the 2017 - 2019 Board as our Lakeside board members roll off. Parents from the Lakeside district are preferred to maintain balance on the board, however, all are welcome. Please let us know if you have an interest in becoming more involved in the leadership of our parent council.

EPLC Meeting Schedule 2016-2017
Meetings are usually held on the third Wednesday of each month, starting at 8:30-8:45am with refreshments and the program starting at 9:00-9:15am, depending on meeting. Meeting locations rotate giving members a chance to visit each of our schools. Programs usually end by 11:00 AM. *Evening meetings are held as needed.

September 20, 2016 at 7:00-8:30 pm - "State of the District" with Superintendent Dr. R. Stephen Green, co-sponsored with Parent Councils United.

October 18, 2016 at 8:45am – Multicultural and Equity Literacy: Developing Awareness & Action Towards a Quality Education for All

Location: Druid Hills Middle School

November 16, 2016, Wednesday at 8:45am - Finding the Right Path for your Child's Educational Needs. Join our panel as we learn to navigate the school system programs and resources and learn more about everything from AP to IEPs
Location: Fernbank Elementary

January 25, 2017, Wednesday. ELPC Legislative Update: Join our local legislators as we delve into the topics that will impact the 2017-2018 legislative session regarding education in our district. Confirmed speakers include: Senator Elena Parent, Representative Mary Margaret Oliver, Representative Scott Holcomb (additional speakers may be added as available).
Refreshments start at 8:30am; Meeting starts at 9:00am.
Location: Hawthorne Elementary. 
March 14, 2017, Tuesday at 7:00 PM - College Admissions Process. (Note this is an evening meeting)
Speaker: Rick Clark from Georgia Tech Admissions
Location: Tucker High Auditorium
