Leaders of all DeKalb Parent Councils Meet

This week, the executive boards of all DeKalb County parent councils met for a parent summit. Leaders of Dunwoody Chamblee Parent Council, Emory LaVista Parent Council, South DeKalb Parent Council, Tucker Parent Council, and Cross Keys Cluster attended the meeting, which was held at the Mary Gay House in downtown Decatur.

2013-2014 Board Nominations

The Nominating Committee would like to propose the following slate for the 2013-2014 ELPC Officers:

ELPC Board Proposes Changes to Emory LaVista Parent Council By-Laws

The ELPC Board is proposing changes to the By-Laws of the Emory LaVista Parent Council. We feel these changes reflect how the ELPC has grown and changed in recent years and how we can continue to best serve our local community.

School Calendars, 2010-11 and 2011-12

In our continuing effort to keep parents and the public engaged, we wanted to advise you of a significant decision under consideration by the DeKalb Board of Education. On Monday, December 7th, the Board will consider approving proposed calendars for the 2010-11 and 2011-12 school years (action item J15)

Selection of DeKalb School Principals, Policy Change

In our continuing effort to keep parents and the public engaged, we wanted to advise you of a significant policy change now being considered by the DeKalb Board of Education. On Monday, December 7, the Board will consider amending a Board policy (action item J 5, By-Law BBFA,) to significantly reduce the role of school councils in the selection of school principals.
